Iceberg Lettuce

A number of varieties are grown by Hira Bhana throughout the year to suit the changing New Zealand weather patterns and have. Varieties have been specifically trialled and tested for taste, crispness, and shelf life. Harvesting is carried out on daily basis in the early mornings, allowing the lettuce to be cut, packed, washed and transported before the temperature gets too high, which would otherwise cause wilting. The lettuce is then transported in a coolerized supply chain so that freshness is guaranteed.

The Iceberg lettuce has tightly packed leaves forming a dense central head. Great in salads, there is no other lettuce as crunchy or crispy as an Iceberg. Use their strong, naturally ‘cup’ shaped leaves to hold fillings, a great way to incorporate crunch to your bite.
